Who we are

Southern Blue Ridge Hikers is a 501c3 non-governmental non-profit focused on public trails work in the Highlands-Cashiers-Clayton area of Western North Carolina and Northeastern Georgia. SBRH operates Highlands Trail Trimmers, which maintains local public hiking trails in the Highlands, NC. We also help maintain public trails around the Cashiers, NC and Clayton, GA areas. These trails include, but are not limited to, the Chattooga River Trail, Glen Falls Trail, Chinquapin Trail, Slick Rock Trail, and Secret Falls Trail. We also aid other trail groups with their work such as the Blue Ridge Bartram Trail Conservancy, Highlands Plateau Greenway, Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust and others.

Southern Blue Ridge Hikers specialize in building and maintaining difficult trails using sustainable trail building techniques. We regularly host trail camps aiming to teach up and coming professionals and volunteers the art of sustainable trail building. If you are interested in learning more, please contact us about future opportunities.

Southern Blue Ridge Hikers are also leading the charge on building the “Blue Ridge Connector”, a project to connect Clayton, Highlands and Cashiers with a foot path.
